Bitter cold temperatures and sub-zero wind chills didn't stop a hardy crowd from joining the Cross Diamond Cattle Company crew and their cooperators for their 4 th annual sale. A big crowd was on hand to brave the cold and to enjoy the great sale day food and hospitality guided by Scott and Kim Ford. Cross Diamond Cattle Company customers were able to select from top genetics from the Cross Diamond program, as well as the programs of 7U Ranch, 3S Cattle Co., Brandyberry Cattle, Choat Cattle Co., Right On Cattle Co., Straka Red Angus and JMS Polled Herefords. Bidders and buyers were in the seats and on the phones representing 19 states.
The high-selling bull was Lot 24, 7U Goaltender 8852 and Sakic son from a Cherokee Canyon dam. He sold for $8000 to Coffee Red Angus, Charles Coffee, Canadian, Texas.
Lot 22, 7U Mission Control 8868, sold for $7750 to Kinchen Red Angus, John and Tana Kinchen, Lance Creek, Wyo. for $7750. He is a Mission Statement son from and 4X-bred dam.
Lot 25, 7U The Goaly 8867, sold for $7250 to Tom Hendrix, Wray, Colo. He is a Sakic son from a Romeo dam.
Lot 9, Crs Diamnd Franklin 8009, sold for $7000 to Right On Cattle Company, Mark and Jodi Nelson, Bertrand, Neb. He is an ARO Triple Play son from a Sandman 705 dam.
Lot 85, Crs Diamnd Hustler 833, sold for $6500 to Randall and Jane Adolph, Freedom Hills Ranch, Mt. Carroll, Ill. He is a Beckton Halfmann Hustler son from a Flying K Pat- bred dam.
Lot 6, Crs Diamnd Epic 810, sold for $6250 to Lynn Pelton, Pelton's Red Angus, Burdett, Kan. He is a Beckton Epic R522 K son from a Gilchrist Chief W515-bred dam.
The high-selling Polled Hereford bull was Lot 155, JMS Victor 509 827. He is a linebred Victor Domino bred bull. He sold to Luke Johnson, Elsie, Neb. for $5000.
Volume buyers were Swanson Farm and Ranch, with 80 head of commercial heifers.
